There are courts. And then there are courts.
The places where the setting is part of the experience. Where you might play on the same grounds as the pros, discover a new sport, or find yourself planning the rest of your weekend around one very good reservation.
As CourtsApp grows, we’re getting access to some pretty remarkable places to play across the country.
Here are four currently on our radar.
For the tennis purist

You don’t have to leave New York City to find serious tennis.
Set on Randall’s Island between Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx, SPORTIME Randall’s Island is the flagship home of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy and one of the country’s major tennis destinations.
The recently expanded complex is enormous, with indoor and outdoor hard and Har-Tru courts, training facilities and enough tennis happening around you to make even a casual hitting session feel slightly more consequential.

Big-city tennis with serious pedigree.

For the pickleball pilgrimage
USOP National Pickleball Center
Naples, FL
If pickleball has a mecca, this might be it.
The USOP National Pickleball Center in Naples is home to the US Open Pickleball Championships and a sprawling collection of 65 outdoor courts.
But you don’t need a medal, ranking or particularly intimidating third-shot drop to play here. Guests can reserve courts, and there’s open play every day organized by skill level.
In other words: come to Naples for the weather. Stay because you’ve accidentally played pickleball for six hours.
Come for
The sheer scale and energy of the place.

For the social player
Pickleball America
Stamford, CT
A former anchor department store turned into a 40,000-square-foot racquet club? We’re listening.
Pickleball America took a massive space inside Stamford Town Center and transformed it into something closer to a social club built around play, with indoor courts, lounge spaces, food and drinks, events and, most recently, padel.
It’s a glimpse at where racquet culture is heading: less country club, more clubhouse.
Come for
Pickleball. Stay for the scene.
